How to Set Up Google Analytics and Connect to Your Website
To get the most detailed tracking of the traffic to your site, the demographics of your visitors, and the actions they take on your site, you will need to get a Google Analytics account set up and connected to your FYZICAL clinic website.
- Log in to your Google Account - usually the Gmail account you have associated with your Google my Business profile
- If you do not have an account, follow the steps on the page to set it up.
- If you do have an account already set up, go to the bottom left and click on the Admin gear icon.
- On the next page, click on the blue "+ Create Account" button at the top left of the screen
- Name your account
- Deselect Google products & services and Benchmarking checkboxes and click next
- Create a property name, select your time zone and click next
- Indicate the number of employees of your clinic
- Check the box for "Measure customer engagement with my site or app" and click the blue Create button
- In the pop-up choose accept
- On the next page about data stream, choose the platform button on the left, "Web"
- on the next page that opens, type in your full website starting with www.fyzical.com/ - without the "https://" - This will be the URL for your website home page. (e.g. www.fyzical.com/east-madison-wi)
- Name your website
- Select "Enhanced measurement" by sliding the toggle on the right to the right and clicking on the Create Stream button
- in the middle of the page, click on the down arrow for Global site tag... to retrieve your code
- Select the code with your cursor and copy it to your clipboard
- Go to your fyzical.com website editor at https://hub.fyzical.com
- On your website, editor home page/dashboard, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Connect Google Analytics button
- On the pop-up, choose the gmail account user that you just set up and click continue
- Within the next minute or so, the info should populate in the dashboard page
The new script can be found by clicking on the blue Get Tagging Instructions button.
Click on the Global Site Tag (gtag.js) dropdown under Tagging Instructions to view the script that needs to be added to the website.
Copy that script and send it to web@fyzical.com with a link to your website. The web support team will add the tracking code to your website.
The Universal Analytics script is actually unique for every Google Analytics account so the franchisee will need to add that on their own. The 'Universal' aspect of it is that it works for other Google products such as Google Ads.
